Parent Meeting Summary: What follows is a summary of information given at tonight's parent meeting:

- The information on this website is the official stuff. Always reference it here. If there are any changes to that, it will be sent by email.

- Please keep up on your child's grades, as a grade below 2.0 for the upcoming grading period will disqualify them from participating in swim.

- Being a member of the swim/dive team means that the athlete is expected to be at every practice and swim meet - the ENTIRE meet. Practices will only be cancelled in case of lightening. If your athlete cannot attend either, the parent needs to notify the coach at least 24 hours in advance by email. If an emergency arises, please call the coach. If you have to leave a swim meet early, please notify the coach. Here are the coaches' contact info.

- It is district policy that ALL student athletes must ride the provided school bus to AND from our away swim meets. If you need an exception, please notify the coach at least 24 hours in advance. Generally there will be no bus service for weekend or out-of-town meets.

- For safety's sake all athletes must remain on the pool deck during all meets, unless they are accompanied by an adult. Please make sure your child fully understands this.

- For swim meets not at home, the bus will leave the senior lot at 3-3:15p. If your child misses the bus, you must get them to the school where the meet is being held. The bus will arrive back in the senior lot usually between 7:30-8:30p. Have your child call you when they leave the school. It is imperative that you are there to pick up your child ON TIME.

- If your child is sick on the day of a swim meet, please email the coach by at least 8a. Get that email address here.

- The coaches and/or team captains may periodically/spontaneously schedule social events (dinner out, beach day, etc.). These are not school-sanctioned events and are optional, but encouraged.

- We need each family to work at least two shifts in the snack bar. We'll start sign ups soon.

- Every year items like cell phones, iPods, and such are stolen from the pool deck. Please let your child know to be very vigilant with their private articles.

- If your child uses an inhaler, they MUST have their name written on them. If they do not have their inhaler with them, they will not be allowed to practice or compete.

- We will have practices over Spring Break. Contact your child's coach, if you will be gone.

- Sore shoulders are very common in swim - especially at the beginning of the season. Ice is recommended - 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off when they get home.
